High stakes exams deserve low stakes practice

Sarvesh started Magna as a parent and a coach before he started it as a technologist. Watching his own son wait weeks for feedback on assignments, and coaching his local Science Olympiad team to the state level, showed him both sides of the same gap: students grow fastest with timely feedback, and teachers rarely have the time to provide it at scale.

He brings deep AI and machine learning expertise to that problem. He holds a PhD from Arizona State University focused on applying machine learning and probability theory to complex graph problems, and an MBA from the Wharton School. He has three awarded patents and one pending in generative AI, and spent years building customer-facing products at Amazon and AWS. In 2025, he was invited to the White House AI Education Task Force meeting, and his work has been covered in outlets including ASU News.

Melissa brings more than two decades of experience helping students and teachers thrive in rigorous academic environments, spanning classroom teaching, instructional coaching, advanced academics, curriculum development, and district-level leadership. She has led large-scale initiatives in Advanced Placement, college and career readiness, and assessment, always pairing rigor with the support students need to succeed.

She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, researching metacognition in AP classrooms and how AI can be used intentionally to strengthen, rather than replace, the thinking students need to become independent learners. That research shapes how Magna teaches. At the heart of her work is a belief that challenging learning should be accessible, purposeful, and designed to build confident, independent thinkers.

Matthew has more than 30 years in the education market, focused on the crossroads between technology and curriculum. He has held leadership roles at companies including Apex Learning, Britannica, Edison Learning, and School Innovations & Achievement, and has led teams in Sales, Marketing, Professional Development, and Business Development.

That experience is why he joined Magna. When a platform saves teachers measurable hours and students show measurable score gains, his job becomes straightforward: listen to what a school needs, show them the product, and let the results speak. Matthew leads partnerships with schools, districts, and tutoring organizations.
